World Book Day was extra special this year, as we were joined in our celebrations by the acclaimed author and illustrator, Jane Ray. Many of you will be familiar with her bright decorative illustrations, as her books are very popular and can be found in schools and libraries all over the country. You can see more of Jane’s work on her website by clicking the link below.
Jane led an assembly in the morning, before leading a workshop in each class. During the workshops, the children made paper feathers or birds that Jane combined with her own painting to create a unique work of art. She also signed books at our book far after school.
Thank you to all the parents that worked so hard on their children’s costumes and attended the worship at the church. It really makes a difference to your child’s enjoyment of the day. A big thank you should also go to Mrs Hawley for organising the day. Well done!
