Social media platforms set a minimum age for their users.  Agreeing that the user is over the required age is part of their terms and conditions of use.  However, this is often ignored by children.  Parents should be aware that where children have breached the terms and conditions of use, social media platforms have, in some cases, refused to investigate instances of online abuse or grooming.

These posters from Twinkl will give you an idea of the required ages for popular social media platforms.
