Thank you so much to all the parents that joined us at the Harvest Festival! As you know, this year we celebrated in a different way, with a “harvest of words”. Pupils spent time writing letters, poems and creating autumn artwork and this was bundled up and delivered to local elderly residents to combat social isolation. We sang some hymns together including some Harvest classics like Cauliflowers Fluffy, Harvest Samba, We Plough the Fields, and some familiar favourites like He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.

Our pupils across every year group put on a fantastic variety of presentations and performances:

  • Reception delighted us all with their energetic rendition of the nursery rhyme Dingle Dangle Scarecrow.

  • Year 1 shared a thoughtful presentation on the seven days of Creation, using beautiful pictures created in their R.E. lessons to help us give thanks for the world around us.

  • Year 2 touched our hearts with a lovely Harvest poem reading.

  • Years 3, 4, and 5 led us in thoughtful prayers of gratitude, reminding us of the importance of appreciation and community.

  • Year 6 gave an insightful and important presentation on food miles, challenging us all to think about where our food comes from and how our choices impact the environment. This was paired with a talk led by Ms Walker on the journey of our food.

It was a truly joyful celebration filled with song, reflection, and community spirit. Thank you again to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to making this year’s Harvest Festival so memorable!
