Harvest Service

16th September 2024H Trinity

We will be holding our annual Harvest Service at Lighthouse London on Wednesday 25th September.  If you would like to donate food, please hand it in to either your child’s class teacher or the office.  Non-perishable items, such as pasta & rice are great, as they are lighter for pupils to carry and easy to store.  All food donations will be taken to the Streets Food Project at the O2 Centre where it will be distributed to local families in need.

Parents are welcome to attend the service.

Statutory Assessment Dates 2024-25

12th September 2024H Trinity

Dear parents/carers,

Some of you have been asking about the types of assessments that schools have to administer in the different year groups.  Please find below details of the statutory assessments for this academic year.  It is imperative that pupils are in school for statutory assessments, so please make a note of any dates that apply to your child.

Academic year 2024 to 2025

Reception baseline assessment

Schools must complete the reception baseline assessment for each child in the first 6 weeks after they enter reception. The baseline assessment is age appropriate and pupils do not even notice that it is an assessment.

Early years foundation stage profile assessment (Reception)

Schools must complete the early years foundation stage profile assessment between between April and June of the academic year in which children turn 5, which is usually the reception year.  Pupils do not complete actual tests or assessments – teachers will assess without the pupils noticing!

Optional key stage 1 tests – taken by Year 2 pupils

It is recommended that the optional key stage 1 tests are administered during May 2025.

Key stage 2 tests – taken by Year 6 pupils

The statutory key stage 2 tests are timetabled from Monday 12 May to Thursday 15 May 2025.

Multiplication tables check – Taken by Year 4 pupils

Schools must administer the multiplication tables check within the 2-week period from Monday 2 June 2025.

Phonics screening check – Year 1 pupils

(Year 2 pupils repeat the screening if they did not meet the expected standard in Year 1.)

Schools must administer the phonics screening check within the 1-week period from Monday 9 June 2025.

Welcome back!

4th September 2024H Trinity

We hope you all had a wonderful summer.  It was great to see the pupils coming back into school looking refreshed and so smart in their uniforms.

The pre-loved uniform stall proved popular again this morning and will be in the playground again tomorrow morning, so please take any items that you need.

Thanks again to all the parents who donated items of uniform for the stall.  It is very much appreciated by our families in need.

Have a great summer!

6th August 2024H Trinity

As another action-packed and successful year at Holy Trinity draws to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support throughout the year.  The team really appreciate your kind comments and gifts.

Next year will be an equally busy year as we welcome OFSTED back for a graded inspection (this is because they felt our grading should be better than ‘good’ last time). We will, as always, be working hard to re-imagine the curriculum and improve our offer to our pupils.

One area we need your help with next year is improving attendance.  New government guidance has set out exactly when schools should take action against parents who fail to bring thier children to school.  This includes when pupils fail to return to school after a school holiday, so please make sure that pupils are back in school for Wednesday 4th September.  Our new attendance policy reflects the new guidance and can be found on the Policies page on our website.

We are blessed in London to have a wealth of museums & galleries on our doorstep that  offer free entrance and activities for children, so why not check them out!

Have a great summer!

Holy Trinity at The National Gallery

18th July 2024H Trinity

Take One Picture Exhibition

This year work by pupils at Holy Trinity will feature in The National Gallery’s Take One Picture Exhibition.  This is the third time that our pupils have featured in this prestigious exhibition.  This time work that our current Year 1 pupils completed when they were in reception chosen by the team at The National Gallery.

If you can’t make your way to The National Gallery, you can view the exhibition on line by clicking the link below.  However, I would recommend a visit to The National Gallery to every parent this summer – it’s free!

Summer activities at the O2 Centre

Our friends at the O2 Centre also have some free activities for children over the summer – why not check them out?

Year 6 Leavers’ Service

18th July 2024H Trinity

Yesterday we celebrated our year 6 class, before they go off to secondary school.  We are so proud of the way they have grown over their time here and know they will be an asset to their new schools.  Well done year 6!  You are all ‘wonderfully made’ (Psalm 139:14)!

Thank you to Lighthouse London for the lovely service.

Raising Money for The British Heart Foundation

17th July 2024H Trinity

Tilly in Year 3 has been raising money for the British Heart Foundation.  So far she has raised almost £100.00!  Great work Tilly!

Tilly will have a little stall in the playground this afternoon selling a range of hand-made keyrings, the proceeds of which go to The British Heart Foundation.  You can purchase a key ring with a minimum donation of £2.00 (though I think they are worth more).  I have already purchased 3!

Parents can use the QR code and their Smart Phone to donate via Just Giving or pay cash and we will make sure it gets to the right place.

Thank you for support Tilly and The British Heart Foundation.

Uniform Donation Days

16th July 2024H Trinity

Hi all,

Just a reminder that pupils can wear their own clothes throughout the last week of school (Mon – Weds), as long as they are donating uniform, or pay 50p per day.

Please check that the uniform you are donating is still wearable and name labels have been taken out.  It is really important that the items are all washed, as we have no washing machine in the school.  As we have very little storage, please can we ask that donations are restricted to uniform items and coats.  If you have other items that you want to donate, Doorstep Homeless Families Charity may be willing to take them – see contact details below.
