Pupils in years 4 and 5 were treated to a workshop about Roman pottery yesterday. They learnt how archaeologists use Roman pottery fragments to date sites found in London. The pupils were able to handle real Roman pottery artefacts, using them as inspiration for their own clay pots.
On Friday year 5 pupils took part in a workshop led by popular children’s author Ewa Jozefkowicz, at South Hampstead Junior School. We’d like to thank our friends at South Hampstead for sharing this aspirational opportunity with our pupils. It was a really good opportunity for pupils from both schools to work together, whilst drawing on Ewa’s expertise.
Thank you to all pupils and parents for your fabulously creative World Book Day spuds. The variety of book characters featured was great and made choosing a winner exceptionally hard for Ms Dillon. Congratuations to Sophie, Kit and Soraya, our prizewinners. Please see a few of the designs below:
Reception also visited The National Gallery to find out about how different artists have depicted them in paintings.
Thank you to our friends at Shiranamikai Karate for giving our pupils a free taster session as part of our termly Health & Wellbeing Day. Sensei Austin and his team put the pupils through their paces during these fun sessions at The O2 Centre.
Pupils also learnt about nutrition and spirituality. If you would like to understand what we mean by spirituality and our approach, please follow the link below.

We want our pupils to enage with each other’s cultures, so that they learn to live well together and the arts are a great vehicle for this. Thank you to Camden Spark for putting this workshop our way.
Last term’s House Captains went to the London Diocesan Board for Schools Service at St Paul’s Cathedral yesterday afternoon. Our school banner was processed down the central aisle during the service. Thank you to Jemima (our Children’s Pastor and school governor) for accompanying us.
Year 6 have had a busy week with trips to The Palace of Westminster for UK Parliament Week and to The Globe Theatre to learn more about Shakespeare.
Finally Year 3 had a visit from The Jewish Museum to support their learning about Judaism in RE.
I have recreated the winning house badge designs as digital files, so that we can use them around the school. Each of the competition winners received a framed copy of their design in worship yesterday. I think their designs look fabulous!
