Raising Aspirations – Year 5 visit Google

14th May 2024H Trinity

Year 5 visited Google’s new offices in King’s Cross on Friday.  This is part of our drive to open pupils’ eyes to possible future careers.  Visiting professionals and their workplaces also helps pupils to understand the relevance of what they are taught in school.

Asthma Friendly School Status

10th May 2024H Trinity

At Holy Trinity, we believe that all pupils have the right to reach their potential, so we have been working hard with NHS staff and the school nursing team to ensure that we are doing all we can to support pupils with asthma.  Our efforts have earned us Asthma Friendly School status.  Thank you to Ms Sparks who has spearheaded the project.

Reaching Our Potential – Bringing History to Life

9th May 2024H Trinity

Year 3 learn about the Stone Age as part of the history curriculum.  It can be hard for pupils to grasp what life was like so far back in history, particularly when very little survives, so the workshop at Gunnersbury Park Museum was a great way to help the pupils’ understanding.  They were able to handle stone age tools, practise their hunting skills and have a go at building a shelter using the materials that were available in the Stone Age.  What a great way to bring history to life!

Reaching Our Potential – Healthy Cookery

1st May 2024H Trinity

Our year 4 class were lucky enough to take part in a cookery lesson at Waitrose’s kitchens near King’s Cross.  They worked together to make healthy dishes that they shared at the end.

We all know the importance of breaking bread with those we love, so why not get your children involved in cooking at home.

Top tip: My nan used to challenge me to peel a spud in one go and, of course, I peeled tonnes of them before I realised that she was just saving herself a big job!

Raising Aspirations – Dance Performances

30th April 2024H Trinity

Dear parents/carers,

Year 3 and Year 4 worked with The Place earlier in the year to create and perform dances based on curricular topics.  The link below will direct you to the website page including links to the performance videos.

Personal Development

We believe that all pupils deserve access to high quality arts provision.   Our partnership with The Place brings pupils into contact with choreographers, professional dancers and students at London Contemporary Dance, who really help to raise pupils aspirations.  If your child isn’t in Year 3 or 4 yet, check out the videos anyway, so you can see what is in store for your child.  Enjoy!

Year 5 – Overnight Stay at The Mill

22nd April 2024H Trinity

Year 5 had a great time getting out into the Surrey countryside during their overnight stay at The Mill.  They showed amazing energy during their four hour hike up Leith Hill and even a few tumbles in the mud didn’t dampen their spirits!  The pupils enjoyed marshmallows by a camp fire, as well as a geocaching competition and a low ropes course, designed to encourage teamwork.  Well done, Year 5!

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at The Mill who took such good care of us.

Important Dates for Summer Term

21st March 2024H Trinity

Dear parents/carers,

The summer term is very busy with statutory assessments taking place throughout the term.  It is imperative that all pupils are in school every day, so that they are fully prepared and ready to sit their assessments.

As a small school we have limited space to accommodate groups of pupils sitting exams and a limited number of staff the support them.  Timetables are planned with military precision to ensure that we can meet the needs of as many of our pupils as possible during this time, whilst continuing to run the rest of the school as usual.  It is therefore very difficult for us to arrange re-sits if pupils are not in on the day of their exams.

KS1 SATS  (Year 2) – 1st of May to 24th May

KS2 SATS (Year 6) –  Monday 13th May – Thursday 16th May

Multiplication Tables Check (Year 4)  – Tuesday 4th June – Friday 14th June

Phonics Screening Monday (Year 1) – 10th June – Friday 14th June

Summer term is not all about exams though!  Here are some key dates for your diary:

Bank Holiday – Monday 6th May 2024 – school closed

Half-term Holiday – Monday 27th May – Friday 1st June*

*NB: Pupils will return to school on Tuesday 4th June due to INSET day below.

INSET – Monday 3rd of June – school closed

School photos – Monday 10th June 2024

Sports Day – Wednesday 26th June 2024

Year 6 play – Friday 12th July 2024 at The American School in London at 4pm

Y6 Leavers’ Service Wednesday 17th July 2024

Picnic in the Park – Friday 19th July 2024

Monday 22nd July – Wednesday 24th July – non-uniform days.*

*This is to facilitate pupils donating uniform that they have grown out of to our pre-loved uniform stall, which will be up and running again in September 2024.

Last day of term – Wednesday July 24th – finish at 12.30pm
