Carol Concerts & Christingles

12th December 2023H Trinity

Well done to Year 5 for their lovely carol performance last night at Lighthouse London. Parents were treated to mince pies and refreshments as they enjoyed the candlelit concert.  A perfect evening to relax just before Christmas.

Thank you to Lighthouse London for hosting the concert and for making the school community feel so welcome.

If you didn’t catch Year 5 last night they will be performing at the O2 Centre and at an Age Concern event later this week.

Disco Divas, Art Detectives and Latin Storytellers!

11th December 2023H Trinity

It has all been happening here at Holy Trinity!  The pupils loved the Christmas Disco, where the brilliant DJ Sonic kept them fully entertained with a mixture of music, games, competitions and even a mini foam party!

Year 2 headed off to The National Gallery to explore how Christmas is depicted in European art and KS2 classes were treated to a performance by a professional storyteller in their Latin lessons.

Nativity Magic

6th December 2023H Trinity

Thank you to all the parents and family members that attended the Reception and KS1 Nativity performances this year.  These provide a great way for pupils to learn the story of Christ’s birth and bring joy to us at a busy and sometimes stressful time of year.  Performances also teach pupils that they can only reach their collective potential if they work together.  I think they did brilliantly!

I am sure you would like to join me in thanking the staff involved for all their hard work and the team at Lighthouse London for hosting us this year.

House Badge Competition

14th November 2023H Trinity

Dear parents/carers,

We want to give pupils more ownership of their houses and make the role of House Captains in the school a more active one. We have invited pupils to design a badge for their house, so that they can stamp their identity on it.   Please find below the guidelines that were given to the pupils.

It is not compulsory for pupils to enter the competition.  Consideration will be given to the difference in ages between pupils when judging.  We are looking for an interesting idea rather than the most beautifully drawn or coloured entry.

Learning to Live Well Together – Odd Socks Day

13th November 2023H Trinity

Thank you to all the parents and pupils who supported Odd Socks Day today.  Days like this underpin our belief that all our pupils are significant to God and to our school family.  Odd Socks Day marks the beginning of Anti-Bullying Week, the theme of which is ‘Make a Noise about Bullying’.  The theme encourages pupils to talk to a trusted adult, sibling or friend about anything that is troubling them, whether it is happening to them or to another pupil.

At Holy Trinity pupils are encouraged to speak to the following if they are worried about anything they experience or see:

  • Any member of Holy Trinity staff
  • Our pastoral support worker, Ms Toplis. (Ms Toplis holds a drop-in session on a Friday.)
  • Jemima, our children’s pastor at Lighthouse London
  • The House Captains – they will listen and alert an adult
  • A sibling who can tell an adult on their behalf
  • Friends who can tell an adult on their behalf

There is also a yellow concerns box in the school office that children can use if they do not feel they can actually speak to anyone.

Learning to Live Well Together – Remembrance

10th November 2023H Trinity

Today we held a 2 minute silence to remember the servicemen and women that have died defending our freedom ahead of Remembrance Sunday.  I am always so moved by how respectfully the pupils observe this occasion, even when it interrupts playtime.  Well done Holy Trinity, I am so very proud of you all.

Odd Socks Day – Monday 13th November

2nd November 2023H Trinity

Odd Socks Day is a fun way to mark the start of national Anti-bullying Week.  (It’s also an excuse to put the collection of single socks that appears after every wash to use!)    It celebrates the fact that we are all different, but equally significant.    Throughout the week pupils will be defining what bullying actually is and who they can reach out to if they experience behaviour they do not like.

Pupils can wear odd socks for free, but it’s £1.00 to come into school in their own head-to-toe outfit.
