Let’s Help Each Other Out – Pre-loved Uniform

12th May 2023H Trinity

Last year the pre-loved items of uniform that were left by Year 6 pupils and donated by other parents were snapped up.  As the cost of living continues to soar, we would like to be able to offer more pre-loved uniform to families in need.

If your child has outgrown their uniform or is leaving at the end of the year, please think about dropping it into school, rather than into the landfill!

Donated items must be:

  • washed – this is really important, as we have no washing facilities in the school!
  • part of the school uniform
  • in wearable condition

I will send a reminder nearer the end of summer term, but just wanted to make you aware that this is a service we can offer, if we all spare a thought for each other.

Healthy Schools Award

10th May 2023H Trinity

Great news!  Holy Trinity has been awarded Healthy Schools Status by both the Mayor of London and Camden Council.  A team of staff have been working towards this award over the last few terms, documenting the high quality education pupils receive in PE, Design & Technology, PHSE & Citizenship, as well as the range of enrichment activities we provide, such as Health & Wellbeing Days.

Thanks go to Mr Pastore, Ms Walker and Ms McQueen, who worked on the application!  We also would not have been able to achieve this award without the catering team from Caterlink, who do such a sterling job providing fresh, healthy lunches.

Time for a Change – 2023-2024

5th May 2023H Trinity

Next year, the end of the school day will return to 3.30pm.  This is to ensure that we are meeting our statutory obligations and supporting the needs of pupils and working parents.

Please note that this does not come into operation until next September.  Term dates for next year are already on the website, so please check them before booking holidays.

The school gates will continue to open at 8.45 in the morning to facilitate a smooth start to lessons.  Pupils should be in their classrooms ready to start lessons at 9.00 am – they should not be arriving at 09.00.

Raising Aspirations – Royal Albert Hall Performance

25th April 2023H Trinity

Year 5 enjoyed an amazing opportunity to perform at The Royal Albert Hall last night, a privilege usually reserved for super stars.  They performed a range of different choral pieces as part of the Camden Schools’ Music Festival.  All the children and parents that I spoke to this morning were delighted with the event.  What a fabulous experience for our pupils!

Thank you to Ms Wilson, Ms Littlewood and Mr Miller for all their hard work in getting the children ready.

Raising Aspirations – Dance Festival Videos

18th April 2023H Trinity

As part of our on-going partnership with The Place, Years 3 & 4 worked with specialist dancers & choreographers to create dances linked to different areas of the science curriculum.   The pupils performed the dances at the Camden Partner Dance Festival just before the Easter.  Click the links below  to see their wonderful performances:

Science selfie – Ms McCleave

7th April 2023H Trinity

Photographing skies in The Thames Estuary.  Originally camera lenses let in light, which reacted with special chemicals to create a negative.  Today’s cameras convert light into digital information that is converted into an image by a computer.

Meteorologists observe different cloud formations when forecasting the weather.  These are mainly cumulus clouds.

Science Selfie – Ms Bear

7th April 2023H Trinity

Here I am in this dark, blurry picture making my way down to the bottom of a well! Wells have been used for thousands of years as a system to access clean groundwater deep below the surface. The well water is drawn up by using either a pump, a bucket or large water bags that are raised mechanically or by hand. Many communities around the world still rely on water wells to get a clean, reliable supply of drinking water today. Luckily, there was no deep water at the bottom of this abandoned well – and I made it back to the top safely!

Science Selfie – Ms McCleave

7th April 2023H Trinity

Ms McCleave on a train.  Trains were the invention that turned Britain into an industrial powerhouse.  During the Industrial Revolution engineers tapped into new scientific knowledge and used it to make so many of the machines we take for granted today.  Originally trains were powered by coal that was burned to make steam, which powered the engine, but now electricity is used.
