Raising Aspirations – Learning from the Professionals

9th March 2023H Trinity

Holy Trinity was blessed to have a fabulous structural engineer come in to tell them about her work.  Katherine has worked on some very impressive projects around the world, including the Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona and a rolling bridge in London Docklands, which really blew the children’s minds!  She was great at explaining how she used maths, science and computing in her work, so the children could see how their learning could be used later in life.  What a great role model to learn from on International Women’s Day!  Thank you, Katherine.

Reception go to The National Gallery

8th February 2023H Trinity

Reception class enjoyed their storytelling workshop at The National Gallery today.  They looked at a number of paintings, including Rousseau’s ‘Suprised!’.  This is a painting all the pupils will be familiar with by the end of the year, as it is the focus painting for The National Gallery’s ‘Take One Picture’ project this year.

Safer Internet Day – 7th February 2023

6th February 2023K McCleave

Dear Parents and Carers,

On Tuesday 7th February we will be joining schools and youth

organisations across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2023.

Safer Internet Day is a global campaign to promote the safe and

responsible use of technology, which calls on children and young people,

parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies,

policymakers and more, to help to create a better internet.

Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote

in school/our group/our club, and celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great

opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver

throughout the year.

We would be delighted if you could join us in celebrating the day by

continuing the conversation at home. To help you with this, the UK

Safer Internet Centre have created some free activities and information

for parents and carers which are available at: saferinternet.org.uk/

SID-parents.

Whether you have 5 minutes to start a conversation or hours to spare,

there are top tips, quizzes and films which you can use at home with

your child.

If you have any concerns or questions about keeping your child safe

online, please do get in touch with your child’s class teacher/myself or

Ms McQueen, our Designated Safeguarding Person/Lead.

Kind regards,

Ms Keeley McCleave

Holy Trinity at St Paul’s Cathedral

27th January 2023H Trinity

Some our KS2 pupils were lucky to go to the London Diocesan Board for Schools’ annual service at St Paul’s Cathedral yesterday.  We were joined by Mr Stephen Rust, our Chair of Governors, who takes a keen interest in the running of the school.  Thank you to the pupils who helped to make our banner, which was processed through the cathedral at the beginning and the end of the service.

Year 1 also visited St Paul’s Cathedral for a ‘Shape Up’ workshop.  They learnt how Christopher Wren used his knowledge of geometry to build the cathedral and decorate it.  I am sure they all slept well that night after climbing all the way up to The Stone Gallery for a magnificent view over London.

Good luck Ms Roscoe

4th January 2023H Trinity

Many of you will know Ms Roscoe, who has worked here for many years, including as Assistant Head.  Ms Roscoe is moving over to our partner school, Hampstead Parochial, to act as Interim Head of School, whilst Ms Inglis is on maternity leave.  I am sure that you will join me in wishing Ms Roscoe every success in her new role.  Congratulations!

Happy New Year

3rd January 2023H Trinity

Happy new year to you all!  It was great to see the children back in school today.  However, we did have a large number of children absent. Please check term dates on the school website regularly and particularly around holiday times.  Secondary schools increasingly have different term dates to primary schools, so please do not rely on what your secondary-aged children are telling you!

Christmas Disco Tickets on Sale

24th November 2022H Trinity

Please note this event is for Holy Trinity pupils only.  Non-pupils and secondary siblings will not be allowed entry to the school.

  • EYFS/KS1 pupils should wear uniform as usual.  This is to make it easier for parents struggling with the cost of living and for safety reasons.
  • KS2 pupils are permitted to go home and change – please no long dresses that are a hazard on the stairs.

Age Restrictions for Social Media Platforms

2nd November 2022H Trinity

I found these posters on a website about the minimum ages for popular social media platforms and thought they would be a useful to parents/carers.  We do know that pupils at school are accessing some of these platforms despite being under age, so please check what your children are using and how they are using it.

If you aren’t sure how to broach the subject with your child, these website have lots of information and advice.

Year 3 Kickstart their Arts Award

6th October 2022H Trinity

Year 3 visited The National Gallery to see the ‘Picasso Ingres – Face to Face’ exhibition.  Year 3’s focus artist this term is Picasso and the exhibition gave the pupils a chance to experience his work first-hand and compare it to the work of another great artist.  This will help them to complete Part B of their Arts Award.

The pupils also studied Henri Rousseau’s painting ‘Surprised!’  This is the focus painting for The National Gallery’s ‘Take One Picture’ project this year.  Schools are invited to make art works based on the focus painting and submit them to the gallery.  After successfully submitting work for exhibition on two previous occasions, we are aiming to make it a hat-trick!

Playground Update

15th September 2022H Trinity

The contractors have now finished laying the synthetic grass.  We are still waiting for some  snagging to be done and some new resources to arrive, but the pupils have been able to enjoy the re-developed space.  All their feedback has been very positive!

Next week, all parents can bring their children in through the bottom gate in the morning.

At the end of the day, parents can collect pupils in years 2-6 from their teachers in the bottom playground as normal.

Reception and year 1 pupils will remain in their classrooms and parents can collect them from there.

Thank you all for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you into the playground next week.
